Nashville Farm to Chef programs help local food producers market and distribute their products in places they can’t get to … for a variety of reasons.
For instance, Amish growers decline coming to market in order to preserve their way of life. Smaller family farms often don’t have enough resources to get to all the markets in the region. And some larger local food companies rely on retail partners like us to get their food distributed.
Good Food for Good People staffs the Nashville Farm to Chef program with capable people who are knowledgeable of the food’s origin, the production system and the product’s quality and freshness. We present these local products at our farmers markets, our mobile markets and via daily delivery to select Nashville area chefs.
Since 2009, nearly a hundred regional producers have participated in the program. The producer retains, on average, 80% of the proceeds.
