The Bells Bend Neighborhood Farms are four farms in the community of Scottsboro/Bells Bend in Northwest Davidson County, just 15 minutes from Nashville. They do not use any synthetic chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and is non-certified organic. Click here for an explanation of their growing practices!
Certified Organic Family Farm
Foggy Hollow Farm is a family operated, certified organic farm. They use organic and sustainable methods to grow high quality vegetables and fruits. The farm is located 25 miles Northwest of Nashville in Joelton, TN. Their goal is to provide the freshest, most nutritious and delicious produce while leaving the land better than they found it.
Family Farm and Dairy
JD Country Milk and Dairy is home to over 300 head of Holstein & Jersey cows. Milked twice a day, they are cared for by three generations of Tennessee dairy farmers. All processing, packaging and distributing is done on farm at their processing plant and they welcome you to come see their operation in Orlinda, TN. Their milk is pasteurized and homogenized, but has no additives.
Herman Gingrich Family Farm

Herman and his family resettled back in Ethridge, TN after a spell farming in Mississippi. Last year they specialized in heirloom tomato and pepper production. As a transitional farm, only crops grown on the Naturally Grown plots are marketed through the cooperative.
Joe Gingrich Family Farm

Joe and his family have been growing produce in a naturally grown system for the past eight years. Their food has primarily been distributed by Avalon Acres for the past five years. Their eggs come from hens feeding on grass and non-GMO, naturally grown feed. Joe is a founding member of the Coop and an elder amongst the budding natural growing farmers.
Local Honey Gatherer
Mark Hayden of Hayzy Haven Apiary keeps bees in Cheatham County. He characterizes his delicious sweetener as a “wildflower” blend and his bees feed on grasses, clover, trees and flowers. Local honey is credited with helping some people adapt to high pollen and perhaps lessen allergy agitation.
Hillside Gardens Fresh Herbs in Nashville, Tennessee specializes in fresh gourmet-quality culinary herbs. Their herbs are grown naturally, without any pesticides or herbicides in raised beds in their yard. Patty Ghertner is now fostering more start-up herb gardens across the city. Her vision is backyard herb farms can be paired with restaurants to create small businesses in Nashville.
Farmhouse Cheese Maker
Kenny Mattingly and his family started using some of their milk to produce farmhouse cheeses using Old World, handmade techniques in 1998. Repurposing the family dairy farm to provide milk for cheese has been brilliant strategy to revitalize the family business. Grass Fed Goat Milk Products
Noble Springs Dairy is operated by Dustin & Justyne Noble on a 218 acre farm in Franklin, TN held in the Land Trust of TN. They take pride in knowing that every drop of milk that goes into theirr cheese is derived from the natural forages from their farm. The milk and cheeses are hormone and anti-biotic free and served at fine dining locations across the region.
Grass Fed Proteins
Brandon and Debbie Apple raise heritage cattle, sheep and chickens. Their livestock feed on managed pastures that they share with laying hens and milk cows. They also raise rabbits and turkeys. They deliver to the LOVE Building every Wednesday from 11 am until noon.
Great Local Cheddars
Sweetwater Valley Farm cheese is produced in a state-of-the-art facility. Owner John Harrison has preserved the fine art and craft of making cheese in the traditional farmstead manner in which they control the process from cow to consumer and have great success creating high-quality cheddar cheese. The farm is located between the towns of Philadelphia and Loudon, in the heart of southeast Tennessee’s dairy-rich Sweetwater Valley.
Mushrooms and Special Produce
Jim Day farms on top of a steep hill on the edge of Ashland City, TN. Jim has mastered using the wooded land to his greatest advantage. His shiitake logs rest in the natural shade except for the few weeks a year they get to fruit in his mushroom hoop house. He also grows micro-greens, squash blossoms and a variety of specialty produce in a intensely farmed greenhouse. Jim is a part-time farmer helped by his son spore-radically. get it?

Gideon and his family have been growing produce in a naturally grown system for the past thirteen years. Their food has primarily been distributed by Doe Run Farms and Avalon Acres for the past five years. Their fields are filled with a broad array of vegetables for ten months out of the year. Gideon is a founding member of the Coop and an elder amongst the budding natural growing farmers. He has not used chemicals in his farming system for 13 years.
Henry Yoder Family Farm
Family Produce Farm w/ Eggs
Henry and his family are on 33 acres outside Lawrenceburg, TN. They have been growing their food and raising chickens for meat and eggs for a small group of healthy food enthusiasts for the past five years. Their eggs come from free-range hens feeding on grass and non-GMO, naturally grown feed. Henry is a founding member of the Coop and is acting as an elder guiding the communities organically fed laying hens. He leads the inspections of all of the Coops egg production.

Danny and his family live on the farm he grew up on. Once a hog farm, Danny took it over 13 years ago and has never applied an ounce of synthetic fertilizer or pesticide. A forward thinking convert to organic farming, Danny has emerged as the chief organizer of the cooperative and manages the regulations and accountability of membership.
