Raised bed gardening makes everything easier. Plants thrive, weeds pull right up, watering and feeding are more manageable. Whether it is for a novice or a master gardener, raised beds are the way to go for small scale production of food, flowers and even herbs.

We have learned over the years are that the garden beds need to be inviting, accessible, in a well travelled spot and in clear view of the community. Great gardens combine beauty and socializing with the delayed gratification of delicious fresh food.

Our system is built from local cedar milled into 2 x 4, attached with large deck screws and filled with a local nursery’s Nutrisoil. We cover the walk areas with pine or tree mulch to suppress weeds. We often install drip irrigation and small hoops for row covers that extend the growing season into the colder months. Each spring we restore the beds with leaf and mushroom compost and a few light feedings of organic fertilizer. We can get three crops a year and produce a lot of food and flowers.

We like to build these for pre-schools, commercial kitchens, school gardens, avid foodies and faith centers. We can guide a community service project or build it for you. The only limits are our imaginations.
